I don't want to go in-depth behind the making of this decision. I don't want to explain to the members just what they've been seeing themselves. My hope, then, is that there is enough understanding about why this is an appropriate decision. That I've been a member of this guild since the very beginning, and it is a decision not made lightly.
If anyone wishes to talk about it, I am available in-game to discuss it.
CurseChat will be open until the point that no one is in it anymore. This site, under this particular URL, will be going down in a short time.
Gallows is right now discontinued. Tomorrow (8-4) will be the last guild meeting. The next week we will work out the logistics of purging the rest of our assets. I will finish selling off what's in the bank, and distribute the funds to most of our members, or at least the ones that are still active.
For the future:
So it doesn't vanish forever, I'll be keeping the name on an alt of mine, and just removing everyone from the rolls. If the community at large appears capable of supporting the guild, and I find the stability I'm looking for, we may see a return of Curse someday.
We aren't leaving to go anywhere right now. You're still our friends.
As for what I'll do, there could be a new guild constructed, similar to Curse. But this too is a decision I will not make lightly, and so there may be some time to wait first. I do like Hand of the Blightcaller, but I mostly wish to see how the next week or two goes as Curse is dismantled.
I've seen a lot of amazing things within this guild that have made me happy. I'm glad for that.
